Ashley Boynes-Shuck – the voice behind Glitzburgh - is an author, blogger, social media professional, and health advocate who credits Oprah, Lady Gaga, Coco Chanel, and Carrie Bradshaw as her inspirations. Ashley is known for her inspirational self-help work in the health and wellness field, her entertainment and pop culture savvy, and her multiple book projects and philanthropic works and charitable efforts.
Living fabulously and Pittsburgh-proud, “Ms. Glitzburgh” is also a public speaker and an avid volunteer who deems herself, “a Jill of All Trades.”
Her background is diverse: she’s taken courses in education, fashion design and music business, been an extra in movies, dabbled in modeling, spoken before Congress, tweeted with Oprah Winfrey (among others!) and also was an on-air personality at 96.1 KISS fm as DJ Bonics’ intern. She’s made several television appearances – both locally and nationally – and in 2011 was named one of Pittsburgh’s Top “40 Under 40″ by PUMP and Pittsburgh Magazine, as well meeting and interviewing many celebrities, and being nominated for a handful of WEGO Health Activist Awards. In 2010, Boynes-Shuck was voted, “Best Blogger” and “Who to Follow on Twitter” by Network Pittsburgh for Glitzburgh™. Presently, Ashley is a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Woman of the Year” designation and is devoted to her fundraising campaign to raise money and awareness for the cause of blood cancer such as leukemia and lymphoma.
Ashley’s website Glitzburgh is popular in the Pittsburgh area and is ever-expanding. She’s also involved in 3 book projects, all of which should be published in the year 2012. Boynes-Shuck is presently working on a novel while doing social media consulting along with her patient advocacy and volunteer work. She has had her writing published in a number of magazines and on several fashion, health, and entertainment blogs and websites over the last 10 years (including works under her maiden name, Ashley Marie Boynes.)
